A long time internet denizen, Jay started the Music for a Mid-Life Geek in 2005 as a place to share stuff stuff he thought was cool while on the interwebz. Over time the blog has evolved to include stories, random musing and photos.
Jay loves all music, but is an unabashed fan-boy when it comes Springsteeen. The Clash, Rush and The Ramones.
Even prior to growing up, Jay showed a bit of nerd persuasion, frequently referring to himself as a 24/7 geek. When he was in the eighth grade, he would frequently skip school to go down to the local Radio Shack to play with the TRS-80s. Later he would skip school and spend the day at the public library downtown, that is, until he discovered the joy of certain herbs, Sleasure Land and punk music.
Today, now in his middle age, Jay works as a web developer, programmer, photographer, computer instructor, number cruncher, marketing analyst and IT dude. He spends his spare time hanging out with his dear wife & three grown sons. He enjoys cooking, camping and all things in nature. He spends to much time on the computer. Still.
A California girl by birth Di learned early on she did not fit in very well there and moved on. Her favorite quote about living in Wyoming is "I wasn't born here but I got here as soon as I could." She spent her early years planning to be a Social Worker, stopped to spend time raising three amazing boys, and then found that Community Action is where her heart is.
She likes to think of herself as one of the "last of the American girls". She is too liberal, too feminist, too opinionated and sometimes thinks a hand out is what is needed. She wears her bleeding heart on her shoulder and has a hard time saying no, but she will. She is often too in touch with her 'inner teen' and has a hard time feeling as old as she is, though she enjoys freedom to speak up and thinks it is a great benefit of getting older.
Her musical taste is a little bit all over the place. A lifelong Beatles fan she actually teared up when she finally saw Paul McCartney in concert in 2010. She also loves Springsteen and thinks you can never listen to Green Day too much. She loves Scorsese movies and sappy romances, still thinks her husband is the best husband ever, and would rather spend an afternoon with him doing almost anything else.
Probably beyond what would be appropriately 'middle age', she works as an Adult Education Coordinator and spends her days trying to figure out how to help people. She still hasn't quite found her blogging voice, but she's working on it.

Communication Across Barriers
I'm an up-and-comer in the blogosphere, though I have been a proud lurker for some time. Outside of the internet, I'm just a guy in his early 20s trying to find his place in this crazy world of ours.
I am interested in Movies, Music, Writing & Game Design
The Effin Bear
The Effin Bear was born when he started living, and will live until he dies. He studied Theater in an attempt to be an actor, then decided it wasn't impractical enough and switched to screenwriting instead. Follow him at TEBishighcelestiallordofawesome.org, or don't. Because it doesn't exist. Yet...
