Delta Rae – Carry The Fire

This album has been out for over a year, but I didn't pick it up until a couple of weeks ago. So far I am very impressed by this freshman effort. Their country tinged folk rock is wonderful. Siblings Brittany, Eric & Ian Hölljes along with Grant Emerson, Elizabeth Hopkins & Mike McKee make a lovely sound well worth a listen.

They say on of their influences is Fleetwood Mac, which I can hear in some of their songs. In fact they just released a remix of the very compelling “If I Love You” featuring Lindsey Buckingham. Some other standouts include the syncopated “Dance In The Graveyards” and the album opener “Holding On To Good”

The entire set of songs would have been on my best of 2012 list had I picked them up sooner. Pick up a copy and let me know what you think.
