Okay, I freely admit I am not a heavy drinker. Tuesday night I had two absinthes, a bloody mary and a double bourbon. I wasn't feeling all that drunk. Wednesday night, well that was different.

We went to Yo' Mama's Bar & Grill and I had a couple beers with my delicious hamburger. Feeling sated we decided to walk Bourbon Street, where we did the usual. Stopped at a daiquiri shop and got Diane one. Then, feeling adventurous, I decided to try the Hand Grenade from the Tropical Isle Bar. Reputed to be the strongest drink on Bourbon Street, after two sips I was feeling it. After drinking the whole thing. I don't remember much of anything.

I was gone! Some times you get the feeling like you can't control your legs (or bowels or bladder) and you are stumbling around like the town drunk. Not with the Hand Grenade, I felt perfectly in control (even though I probably wasn't) but as soon I got back to the hotel room, I unceremoniously hit the bed and pretty much didn't move for the rest of the night. All while carrying on a conversation with Diane.

On the upside, I am not so tired to make our early flight (at the airport by 4:00 AM) and except for an extreme need to re-hydrate myself and put in us much caffeine in my body that I can fit, I am no worse for weaar, but any drink that can induce a black out drunk is a drink to be avoided.
