Understanding is not a destination

Icy Morning SOOCIn this world; In this time; In this light;
I see simplicity and complexity
I see apathy and passion

In the written word; In the speech of sinners; In the light of saints;
I seek accord and receive differences
I seek answers and receive questions

In the back alley; In the front row; In the crowded highway;
I hear words whispered and rants shouted
I hear the unjust are pandered and the needy are denied

In the sunrise; In the full moon; In the setting sun;
I feel like we have done nothing and everything
I feel like the world has shifted and we are left wanting

In the faces; In the voices; In the hands;
I need to hold tight and let go
I need to begin the journey and come home

Cliff Notes: Living in the grey world is infinitely more painful, but much more interesting then living in a black and white world.

  1. You are such an inspiration, Jay! As always, thank you so much for sharing.

  2. Brilliance often comes from pain, too...I just love this!
