Post Friday Pick Six - The Seventies had the greatest SAX solos in pop music...

Saturday, December 13, 2008
I was driving across the state yesterday, listening to Nick Drake, and marveling at the sax solo / backing and was transported to all the great sax solos of the 70's, a time in which pop music was replete with them. This is inspired this week's pick six (actually 7), starting with Nick Drake:

  1. Nick Drake - Poor Boy, Bryter Layter
  2. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band - Jungle Land, Born to Run
  3. Van Morrison - Moondance, Moondance
  4. Pink Floyd - Us & Them, Dark Side Of The Moon
  5. Steely Dan - Aja, Aja
  6. David Bowie - Young Americans, Young Americans
  7. Billy Joel - New York State of Mind, Turnstiles
Can you think of anymore?
